DOT maintains, and many States, strict guidelines regarding specimen processing. CMI tracks and monitors all testing to ensure the testing process meets these requirements.
Our contracted lab is SAMSHA certified.
Below is a listing of the substances that are tested under DOT requirements and our standard Non-DOT testing:

1Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid (THCA). 2Morphine is the target analyte for codeine/morphine testing. 3Either a single initial test kit or multiple initial test kits may be used provided the single test kit detects each target analyte independently at the specified cutoff. 4Methamphetamine is the target analyte for amphetamine/methamphetamine testing. 5To be reported positive for methamphetamine, a specimen must also contain amphetamine at a concentration equal to or greater than 100 ng/mL. 6Methylenedioxyethylamphetamine (MDEA). 7Methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA). 8Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA). |

Initial Test: All specimens will be initially screened for the use of prohibited substances using an immunoassay test, which will eliminate negative urine specimens from further, or confirmatory, testing. Any specimen which resulted in a positive after the initial screening will be subject to confirmation screening using a more stringent and precise testing methodology.
Confirmatory Test: All specimens which are identified as positive on the initial test will be confirmed by a second screening independent from the initial screening which uses gas chromatography/mass spectrometry to confirm the initial positive test result.
