Initial Test:
All specimens will be initially screened for the use of prohibited substances using an immunoassay test, which will eliminate negative urine specimens from further, or confirmatory, testing. Any specimen which resulted in a positive after the initial screening will be subject to confirmation screening using a more stringent and precise testing methodology. The cut-off levels listed below will be used in the initial screening of specimens:
Amphetamines................................................................................. 1000 ng/ml
Barbiturates....................................................................................... 300 ng/ml
Benzodiazephones............................................................................. 300 ng/ml
Cannabinoid metabolites....................................................................... 50 ng/ml
Cocaine metabolites........................................................................... 300 ng/ml
Opiates.............................................................................................. 300 ng/ml
Phencyclidine (PCP)............................................................................. 25 ng/ml
Methadone......................................................................................... 300 ng/ml
Methaqualone..................................................................................... 300 ng/ml
Propoxyphene.................................................................................... 300 ng/ml
Confirmatory Test:
All specimens which are identified as positive on the initial test will be confirmed by a second screening independent from the initial screening which uses gas chromatography/mass spectrometry to confirm the initial positive test result. The cut-off levels listed below will be used to determiner “confirmed positive” test result:
Amphetamines................................................................................... 500 ng/ml
Barbiturates....................................................................................... 300 ng/ml
Benzodiazephones............................................................................. 300 ng/ml
Cannabinoid metabolites....................................................................... 15 ng/ml
Cocaine metabolites........................................................................... 150 ng/ml
Opiates.............................................................................................. 300 ng/ml
Phencyclidine (PCP)............................................................................. 25 ng/ml
Methadone......................................................................................... 300 ng/ml
Methaqualone..................................................................................... 300 ng/ml
Propoxyphene.................................................................................... 300 ng/ml
